“Life is a cocktail dress inspired by the religious philosophy of Anne Conway, who believed that all creations can change while maintaining their fundamental properties—and that body and spirit are made of the same substance in different densities. This dress explores the idea of difference within sameness.

Constructed from a single piece of fabric, the outer dress is twisted and draped in varying ways to signify transformation. The manipulation causes the fabric to appear denser in some areas and lighter in others, yet it remains one continuous material. This concept continues in the beadwork: all beads are made of glass, but their differing colors and placements give each section a unique appearance, echoing the idea of variation within unity.

The fabric was hand-dyed using an ice dye method, where dye powder is sprinkled over ice cubes placed on the fabric. As the ice melts, color spreads organically, symbolizing change. Though the appearance shifts, the underlying fabric remains the same—reflecting a sense of oneness and continuity beneath transformation.
